Bye January, hello February.. Curious about the events we organise in the upcoming month? Check our events page then! More dates might be added but so far the schedule is as below:

ADULTS

– 6 February: Wine, wine, good wine!

Wine lovers! Which best way to start the new month than with good wine? We arranged a Wine Drink at one of the best wine shops in Haarlem: Grapedistrict! Stijn of Grapedistrict Haarlem has selected 3 white and 3 red wines. Taste as many glasses as you want. Taste them all and choose your favourite. At the end of the evening we will hold apoll. Which one is expatsHaarlem’s preferred wine? Costs: € 12,50 p.p. to be paid in advance by bank transfer. You are only officially registered after payment. LAST MINUTE DECIDERS: € 15 at the door. Time to meet, have a chat, toast and taste. Cheers!

– 7 February: Basic Photography Workshop!

If you consider yourself a beginner or wannabe photographer or if you want to check your knowledge on the fundamentals of photography, this is the workshop for you. During the workshop we will cover the following topics: the history of photography, exposure triangle, recommended settings for different situations, composition, lighting… After the lecture there will also be a Q&A session where we will help you to understand photography even better. The fee for the workshop is 12,50 euro per person and money will be used to cover the basic costs of the organisation of the event. You can pay by paypal or by bank transfer. The workshop will be held by our Haarlem Photo Club member Danijel Đorđević, professional events and observed portraiture photographer from Haarlem. You can find more about Danijel on his website: www.danijelphotography.com. The workshop will be held in English and will last 1-2 hours. PLEASE SIGN UP AND PAY THE FEE BEFORE 02.02.2015. If you have any further questions regarding the workshop, please do not hesitate to contact: Danijel Đorđević at office@danijelphotography.com or via +31 (0)6 49198093.

– 11 February: Dutch Language Café

Let’s get together in Haarlem again to practice speaking Dutch. What to expect: an evening of drinking something together and having some Dutch conversation. No formal lessons and no expectations to be perfect just a chance to practice speaking and learn from your mistakes. All levels welcome although knowing just a bit of Dutch to begin with helps. We are all here to help each other, no pressure! It’s best to know a little bit of Dutch so you are not too lost, knowing a lot of Dutch is not required, and hey, the beer helps! And which beer is better than the local Haarlem Jopen beer? Never tasted it? Time to try! Often some Dutchies join as well, wanting to meet other internationals while keeping speaking Dutch this eve.  Come and practice speaking Dutch in a relaxed environment. The Dutch Language Café opens its doors every 2nd Wednesday evening of the month in Café Stempels. Don’t miss it!

– 27 February: expatsHaarlem Monthly Drink (every last Friday of the Month)

In these times of uncertainty, where nothing is what it seems, where technology is taking over and where there is no such thing as ‘there are no facts, only interpretations’, one thing is for sure: Every last Friday of the month, there will ALWAYS be the expatsHaarlem monthly drink. So come and join us to celebrate the end of the month and week together!
