Sand Sculpture Festival

Are you good with a bucket and spade? This years Sand Sculpture Festival has started and is free for anyone to see the artists work in progress and the final results until the end of October.

This year the theme is, ‘Amsterdam Icons.’

This summer, international artists will compete to create the best work at the Sand Sculpture Festival 2016 at the Zandvoort beach! The sculptures will be around 3,5m high, 3m wide and 3m deep. A total 200 tons of special sculpting sand will be used. The public can see the contestants at work at various locations throughout the village, in Badhuisplein, Kerkplein and Raadhuisplein.
