Hey, did you know that the annual Flower Parade of the Bollenstreek is starting soon?
The Flower Parade is a parade of about twenty floats and more than thirty special floats, decorated with an abundance of flowers.
The theme for 2016 is Flowers & Fashion. On Saturday 23 April, the Flower Parade will leave Wilhelminaboulevard in Noordwijk at 9:30 to make its way to Haarlem, with the lit-up floats arriving in the centre of Haarlem around 21:30. On Sunday 24 April, the floats will be displayed in Gedempte Oude Gracht/Nassaulaan.
There is plenty of places a long route that you and your family and friends can watch the parade go by. I personally recommend Wagenweg as a good place to set up camp and watch the floats go by. Get to Wagenweg early and you can get a front row seat (and a few drinks) at the cafes and bars.
Did you watch the parade last year? Where do you recommend the best place to watch the parade? Let us know in the comments!
