Christmas tree action

Just like in previous years, the municipality of Haarlem and Spaarnelanden organize the Christmas trees campaign in early 2018. On Thursday 4 and Wednesday 10 January 2018 – between 12.30 and 16.00 hrs – children up to 15 years old can bring old Christmas trees at various locations in Haarlem. The aim of this action is to prevent as far as possible that discarded Christmas trees are lying around in the city. The collected trees are shredded and processed into compost.

40 cent en een lootje

For each delivered tree the children receive € 0.40 and a ticket with which they can win the main prize of € 500, -. This prize is intended for an activity with the whole class, for example an excursion or for a good cause.
In addition to the main prize, gift vouchers can also be won. In all locations, a gift voucher of € 10 per 100 handed trees will be reached out on Wednesday 10 January 2018 at 4.30 pm.
Children from 16 years and adults can also return old Christmas trees. However, they do not participate in the campaign.
