Circus performer out of danger after fall from great height in Haarlem

During a performance at the Christmas Circus Haarlem last night, a performer was injured when he fell down from a great height. The circus artist was taken to hospital, where he was found to be responsive and out of danger. Among the visitors who saw it happen were many children.

The accident happened around 8.45pm on Wednesday night, 4 January 2023. At that time, the show had just been on for an hour. About a thousand spectators were present in the circus tent, including many children. Everyone initially thought it was part of the act, but then it became clear that it was a very serious incident.

The circus reported that the acrobat needed a lot of painkillers. He is still being further examined for such things as fractures or internal injuries.
