Fire in future asylum for refugees in Haarlem

Sunday morning a fire broke out in the former nursing house Boerhaave in the Louis Pasteurstraat in Haarlem. The fire was discovered around six o’clock. It is officially still unclear what the cause of the fire was, but it’s presumably arson.

From April, the former nursing home will be used by the Central Agency Asylum Seekers as an emergency location for up to 450 refugees for a maximal period of one year.

The Police are currently guarding the nursing home until Forensic Investigation research on the property has been done and all traces have been secured.
