Flower Parade Bollenstreek 2014

The Bloemencorso Bollenstreek, or Flower Parade of the Bollenstreek (Bulbs Area) is one of the most famous parades in the world. More than a million people come to see the beautiful flower praalwagens (floats). The Flower Parade Bollenstreek is the only parade that is built with bulb flowers such as hyacinths, tulips and daffodils.

The Bloemencorso drives every year a 40 kilometer route from Noordwijk, through Voorhout, Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek and Heemstede to Haarlem.

This year the Parade will ride on Saturday May 3rd.

The colourful procession of flower-decorated floats will start at 9:30 pm from the boulevard in Noordwijk to the centre of Haarlem, where the illuminated parade will arrive at 21.30h. In total, twenty floats are taking part in the parade and there are more than thirty special flower-decorated cars and other vehicles. The procession is accompanied by music bands. And by the Bloemenmeisjes (Flower Girls) of course. The theme of this year is: energy.

A splendour which you should see.

You cannot see the Flower Parade on Saturday? On Sunday May 4^th all floats can be admired at the market square in Haarlem, till 17:00h. Along the displayed flower floats there is often plenty to do/see: stalls, stages, acrobats, magicians….
