Amsterdam loves food trucks. We love food trucks too! And that’s why we’re going to the Food Soul Festival in Amsterdam on January 29th, 30th and 31st!
It’s going to be a weekend full of yummy food and nice soul music. THE perfect combination!
The indoor location (Kromhouthal) has a nice view on the IJ and is full of food trucks selling the most delicious things. There you’ll find oysters, crêpes, grilled pizza, hot dogs, burgers, artisanal beers, a wine bar and a pop-up dessert restaurant… What’s not to love about the FSF?
Maybe only the fact that you have to buy your own (eco plastic) glass just like at one of the many other food festivals, the Rollende Keukens. I find that a bit of a drag since I don’t want to start a collection of plastic glasses, but OK…
Vinyl Mobile, Jack Jukebox and Candyman will take care of the music.
The entrance is free and you pay your food and drinks – and plastic glass – with special FSF coins (they cost 1,25 euro per piece).

How to get there:
Free ferry (you can take your bike too) from Central Station to the IJ-hallen (a 2 minute trip). After that you need about 3 minutes by bike or 7 minutes by foot to get there. Every 6 minutes there’s a ferry crossing over.
Bus 32 and 33 from stop Johan van Hasseltweg to Amsterdam-Noord (IJ-hallen). Bus 38 from stop Hamerstraat.
Friday 29 January 2016: 16.00 – 24.00 hrs
Saturday 30 January 2016: 12.00 – 24.00 hrs
Sunday 31 January 2016: 12.00 – 22.00 hrs

She is Gambero Rosso chef and chef and teacher at her own cooking school (La Cucina del Sole). She is culinary expert on national TV and radio shows, author of several cooking books and Ambassador of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. Her favorite sport is trying new restaurants.
