From 18th to 20th March Haarlemse Lente (Haarlem Spring) takes place for the fifth time. A long weekend entirely devoted to the thriving contemporary art scene in Haarlem, at museums, galleries and artists’ initiatives. This year’s title is, ‘Jubilee Lines’!
This festive anniversary edition of Haarlemse Lente will be held in 14 different locations. The wide variety of participating institutions shows that classic painting, city of ancient and contemporary art go together very well.
Theme: Jubilee Lines
The individual partners make thematic connections titled Jubilee Lines. Numerous exhibitions, performances and lectures are organized in this weekend in which ‘the line’ is central. In a literal sense, seeing the large number of exhibitions around the medium ‘drawing’; “line” refers as well to the quest that artists make for direction, continuity and clarity: the essential things that have become more complex than ever before in the current fragmented and rapidly changing (art) world.
