In the old Haarlem Droste factory, there is an apartment is for sale for 2.1 million euros.
Although such amounts are more common in a city such as Amsterdam, they are quite unusual in Haarlem. In this case the price could be explained by the size of the object. It is a very large penthouse that we don’t see very often in Haarlem, while in Bloemendaal there are many.
The famous Droste chocolate factory in Haarlem was originally a family business. It was acquired several times and has been an independent brand since 1997. The original Droste distillery was still in use until 2004, as part of Dutch Cacao BV, but in that year production moved to a new factory in Amsterdam.
