Sinterklaas

Sinterklaas and his Pieten will visit the city of Haarlem on Sunday, November 17th.

Once again the man in red has chosen our picturesque city to moor his boat. As is now traditional, Sinterklaas and his crew will come to a halt at Spaarne quay (in front of the Koudenhoorn, the Valkestraat and Teylers Hofje).

Children and adults can look forward to another year of merriment, with singing, dancing from the cheerful Pieten. After the Saint sets foot on land, he then sets off on Amerigo, his faithful horse, on which he will tour the city. He will then make his way towards the Grote Markt where the mayor and excited families await his arrival. Sinterklaas will take his place on the outdoor stage where children can talk to him and have their photo taken.

Route:

The procession will depart Teylers Hofje via the Donkere Spaarne, turn right at the intersection with Damstraat and go through the Grote Houtstraat via the Oude Groenmarkt. At the Proveniershof, the procession will enter Gierstraat and then turn left onto Gedempte Oude Gracht. At the Zijlstraat it turns right and where the Nieuwe Groenmarkt appears on the left, Sint, Amerigo, and the Pieten continue via the Nieuwe Groenmakt, the Krocht, and Smedestraat to the Grote Markt.

When: Sunday, November 17, 2019

Time: 1 p.m.
