The F200, the cycle path between Haarlem, Halfweg and Amsterdam, is an elongated cycle route between the capital of North Holland and the capital of the Netherlands. Work on the first section of this cycle route has just been completed, which started in Amsterdam and ended in Halfweg. The other section will be tackled soon. And then cyclists will be able to continue cycling from Haarlem to Amsterdam in one long line – a great example of pleasant exercise.

It took a long time to implement plans to improve the F200. There was too little money and too little capacity. All this together caused many delays. But last year the tide turned and the shovel went into the ground. The work is partly funded by the province of North Holland and the Amsterdam Transport Region.

In December 2022, the section between Amsterdam and Halfweg was completed. The section after that, between Halfweg and Haarlem, will be tackled this year. This will involve the cycle path between the Weeren Bridge and De Zoete Inval restaurant. Preparations have already started there, for instance by fitting in the entrances and exits of private individuals and businesses adjacent to the road.
