This weekend Villa Westend Velserbroek is entirely in the atmosphere of Lapland, the most northern point of Europe, located in the Arctic Circle.
The event allows visitors to enjoy the atmosphere and flavors of the real Lapland. Dining in a wooden ‘kota’, hugging husky dogs and relax in a Finnish sauna; during Taste of Lapland this all happens.
On the beach of Villa Westend there is a traditional wooden house which can sample up to 50 guests per session tot taste products of of Lapland. Two Finnish chefs have come to the Netherlands especially for this event, to give guests an unforgettable culinary experience including various preparations of reindeer and crisp fresh salmon. Dinner is served in an atmosphere of reindeer skins, open fire and the remarkable story of the life of the indigenous Sami people.
Lunch (2 courses including coffee and tea 31,50 euro per person) can be booked every day at 12:00. Dinner (3 courses 42.50 euro pp) will start at 17:00 and 20:00.
But Taste of Lapland has more to offer than good food and drinks. On this winter market there are numerous nice gifts to use in houses or for the holidays. Spread over several days, visitors van get acquainted with reindeers and husky dogs, a northern lights show, snowshoeing and a Finnish sauna with hot tub (so bring your swimsuit). And of course there is a cozy outdoor bar with a Finnish snacks! Also a Finnish brewing course is given. Among the visitors an all-expenses trip to Lapland is raffled.
