Spring has finally arrived to Haarlem! April in Haarlem is full of events for the whole family to enjoy, from the Flower Parade to King’s Day, from a comedy to a drink… there will be something for someone. Tax sorrow time? Nope! expatsHaarlem organises 2 free seminars where you can ask all your questions.

From Friday 5 April till Saturday 13 April, the New Bavo, the church with the green dome on the south side of Haarlem, is hosting an exhibition; The New Bavo Bloom. Showcasing more than 60,000 flowers.

On Saturday 6 April, you can have a taste of various Whiskeys at the Haarlem Whisky Event. It is being held in the Nieuwe Kerk and costs 30.00 euros admission.

On Friday 12 April, 8 PM is expatsHaarlem English comedy night, The Haarlem Comedy Factory April. With upcoming comedians and new material by established comedians from the international scene. Online tickets cost € 10 p.p. Remaining tickets (if available) can be bought at the door for € 15,00 p.p. Doors open from 7,30 pm.

On Friday 12 April, 9,30 PM, directly after the Haarlem Comedy Factory, is the expatsHaarlem Monthly Drink April at cozy and typical Cafe de Zwaan, a concept in Haarlem. With more than 40 beers, both on tap and in bottle (and wine and soft drinks as well), bitterballen and view on the canal!

On Saturday 13 April, two Free Income Tax Return Seminars, at 10,30 AM and 12 PM.

During this Seminar morning, our business partner Vincent van Wijngerden of GVN Adviseurs/Expat Taxes will present information about how to file your taxes in the Netherlands, for privates and small companies. Vincent will give you some legal tips and tricks and there will also be time to ask your questions!  Subjects: Tax System in the Netherlands, types of Income tax returns, partnership status, Box1 , Box 2 and Box 3; personal deductions (interest expense on mortgage loan, study expenses, healthcare expenses, alimony etc. ; tax credits; 30% ruling issues; taxation of small companies; legal tips and tricks

On Saturday 13 April evening is the annual flower parade! The Bloemencorso will begin its 40-kilometre journey from Noordwijk to Haarlem, it will arrive around 21:30 on the Gedempte Oude Gracht in Haarlem. The floats full of flowers will be stationed in the main square the next day for you to see a closer look.

Also on Saturday 13 April till the 27 April, the main square will turn into a fun fair! Rides and attractions for young and old will be available.

On Saturday 27 April, it is KINGS DAY. Celebrate the Kings Birthday in your best orange outfits, flying the Dutch flag and having a street party.
