THINGS TO DO IN HAARLEM THIS SEPTEMBER
Summer may be coming to an end but there are plenty of reasons to be happy that September has arrived in Haarlem! As always we have the Dutch Language Café, our monthly drink and to celebrate the start of the cultural season, we have 3 comedy nights! September also offers a host of music festivals, fun runs, and cultural events including Heritage Days and Korenlint. There is something for everyone this month!
Until the end of September: ‘Climb to the light’
The extensive restoration of the cathedral is almost complete and it is more beautiful than ever! Until the end of September, you can ‘climb to the light’ and experience the stunning views of Haarlem, at almost 60 meters height via a spectacular bridge from tower to tower.
Wednesday September 4th: Taalthuis open day

Friday, September 6th: expatsHaarlem Summer Comedy (in English)
Enjoy late summer with a laugh, a chat and a good time on Friday, 6 September 8:30 PM!

September 6th-8th: Circuit Zandvoort
Once a year you can take a trip down memory lane at Circuit Zandvoort. You can enjoy imaginative racing classes with well-filled starting fields. As part of the Historic Grand Prix Parade on Saturday evening, more than 100 historic cars will drive from Circuit Park Zandvoort to the center of Zandvoort aan Zee. After 3 entertaining laps, the cars are parked, so that visitors can admire the cars up close!
Saturday, September 7th: PolderGoud Festival
PolderGoud Festival is a blazing music festival in an industrial setting! Surprising elements are presented to you and ensure a constant shift of your attention.
PolderGoud offers a great day festival experience through the right combination of crackling guitars, boombastic hip hop, eclectic EDM, energetic culture & creativity, good food, and home-brewed PolderGoud Pilsener.

September 14th-15th: Heritage days
During these dates, more than four thousand beautiful monuments throughout the Netherlands are free for everyone to enjoy. In Haarlem, more than 60 monuments open their doors to the public.
Every year the Heritage Days offer the chance to visit a place that you may not ordinarily experience. This year the national theme of the Heritage Days is ‘Places of Pleasure’.
September 14th-15th: Korenlint
During the Heritage Days, the Haarlem Koren Federation organizes its annual Korenlint in the center of Haarlem.
You simply can’t miss this musical spectacle where up to 100 choirs provide performances at various locations around the city. From classical to pop, from Bach to Beatles Korenlint has got your musical tastes covered!
Sunday, September 15th: Superhero Kidsrun Haarlem
If you are between 5 and 15 and have a particular interest in superheroes then this event is definitely for you! This is the very first Superhero Kids Run to take place in Haarlem. It will be held in the Reinaldapark and participation is completely free!
Sunday, September 22nd: Pentagon Huiskamerfestival
On Sunday 22 September, the 9th edition of Pentagon Huiskamerfestival will take place in Haarlem. The festival offers a mix of cabaret, music, and theater with room for around 30 people per show. The shows last a maximum of 30 minutes, so ideal if you have a short attention span!

Sunday, September 29th: Teva Half from Haarlem
On Sunday, September 29th the starting signal will be given for the 35th edition of the Teva Half of Haarlem. De Halve van Haarlem is a running event in Haarlem and surrounding areas. It is organized by Stichting SportSupport Kennemerland.
