At Taalthuis you can follow Dutch Language courses at different levels. Their aim is to make learning a fun experience! Founded in 2006 Taalthuis now is a well-known language institute in the Netherlands for higher educated students. With lesson locations in eight different cities in the Netherlands, including Haarlem, Taalthuis makes it possible for expats, au pairs and international students to learn Dutch all over the Netherlands.
Expats who want to learn more about the Netherlands and absolutely want to learn the Dutch language are in the right place at Taalthuis! The courses offered by Taalthuis are challenging and fun. You will quickly understand more about the Dutch language and feel more at home in the Netherlands.
Taalthuis uses its own course materials at the Beginner and Intermediate levels. During the courses, you will be exploring all kind of interesting subjects and current topics. Each lesson takes 2,5 hours. Besides that, you are expected to spend about 2.5 hours weekly on homework. Are you ready for that challenge?
Taalthuis has its own teaching method for the beginner and intermediate levels and has been developing its own course material and they have added an e-learning program. The participants receive all the course materials during the course. The language course materials consist of a grammar book and a workbook and access to the e-learning facility. All students will have access to the e-learning program. On the e-learning program you can make online exercises, listen to vocabulary and songs and study the main grammar.

For the beginner’s courses, it is obligatory to have a basic knowledge of the English language.
The Beginner basic course (A0>A1) teaches you the very basics of the Dutch language.
The Beginners plus course (A0>A2) is specially developed for German and South African students, or students who already have some knowledge of the Dutch language. This course has a higher level than the Beginners Basic course. Students who are not from Germany or South Africa or don’t have any knowledge of the Dutch language are advised to do the Beginners basic course.
For the Intermediate course (A1-A2) you have to have finished a beginners course at A1.
For the Advanced course (A2-B1) you have to have finished a beginners plus or intermediate course at A2.
For the Advanced course (B1>B2) you will have to have reached the B1 level in a previous course and will get you more fluent in Dutch.
