Program

Doors open at 8: 00 PM, to gather and grab a drink Show at 8:30 PM. The bar is open during the whole event. Coming alone? Meeting up for the comedy before the show and discussing the comedy in the break and after the show is a good way to socialize.

Comedians

Alina Sharipova

Alina Sharipova is an Amsterdam-based comedian with an immigrant background, who seamlessly combines her post-Soviet roots from Uzbekistan with her Western upbringing in Belgium. In her debut stand-up comedy show, That Funny Feeling, Alina fearlessly delves into the complexities of her immigrant upbringing, wrestles with her self-esteem, and recounts her experiences in a relationship with a Dutch man.

She has also crafted a unique crowd work show called Let’s Talk, which skillfully blurs the boundaries between comedy, improvisation, and therapy, creating an interactive and transformative experience for her audience.

In 2022, she was recognized as One to Watch by Funny Women, solidifying her status as a promising talent. Alina’s talent have even caught the attention of renowned comedians such as Taylor Tomlinson, Nate Bargatze, Ari Shaffir, TJ Miller, and Jared Freid, who have honored her by inviting her to open for their shows in venues such as the Oude Luxor in Rotterdam.

Karan Karthik

Karan Karthik, living in Enschede, Netherlands (yes that is a real place). Started doing stand up comedy 2 years ago and has been slowly making his moves on the European comedy scene. He successfully launched his first Solo hour “MAD PSYCHOLOGIST” to a SOLD out crowd in Amsterdam in February 2023 followed by many sold out shows for his solos in India and Netherlands.

This polyamorous psychologist has something to say about everything from racism to mental health to sexual fantasies, to literally anything he can shrink down into his limited judgemental mind. He still is not sure if he is funny or just finds things funny, so he is hoping that you will join him in at least laughing at him if not with him.

Arjun Sharma

“Arjun is from India and, as per government regulations, an engineer. That hasn’t stopped him from blundering through life and into standup & fatherhood. He’s one of the hot singles in your area. Will work for a kindly glance, silks from the East, money, and an Oxford comma.

He performed all over the Netherlands and Belgium for the past couple of years, in lineup & themed shows.”

Max van Dijk

Max van Dijk is a misanthrope in recovery. He uses the self-checkout not because it’s faster but because he likes making the cashier feel bad about themselves. Hailing from the outlaw north of the Netherlands, he’s practically a hermit outside of stand-up.

ELo

No matter how many books will be written about this guy it will still fall short to complete his story. ELo is a black man from Burundi and Ruwanda (both countries in africa) who ran away from home because he was pissed at his mom more than the ongoing war, walked a little too far without a map and ended up in the Netherlands as a refugee on a boat. Now that he has his papers in the Netherlands he is still around around bringing his story to the audience in the most hilarious, dark and unheard of anecdotes. Everytime Elo is on stage the audience always goes back home with a lot to think about and a hurting belly with all the laughter. HIM YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS HIM

Ciara Murphy is a new Irish comedian offering humorous insights into life in the Netherlands, dating (mis)adventures and observational comedy.

(De Prael / De Molen / Het Veulen / De Zeven Deugden) As a born Rotterdammer, ‘no-nonsense’ is perfect for him. Patrick is everyone’s friend. A born connector. His attitude to life form the pillars of the company. He is therefore literally the face of Breugem Bier.
