Haarlem one of the most attractive places to live in the Netherlands

Some Haarlem residents have known it for a long time, but it is now official: Haarlem is in the top ten of the most attractive places to live in the Netherlands. This is the outcome of the ”Atlas for municipalities”. You will find Haarlem in ninth place.

The Atlas voor gemeenten (Atlas for Municipalities) compares the fifty largest municipalities in the Netherlands on more than fifty factors. Consider employment, but also universities, housing prices and cultural facilities.

Living in Haarlem

Atlas researcher Marten Middeldorp tells NRC that people particularly appreciate proximity to facilities. “They want to be able to walk in a park a short distance from their home and have a picnic with the children,” he says.
